Job Summary:
The Director of Sales is responsible for attainment of assigned business transient/group/catering goals tied to the overall performance of the hotel. The individual will be responsible for effectively soliciting and securing new accounts as well as servicing clients/groups where applicable. The Director of Sales will work in conjunction with the Regional Director of Sales and Area Sales Managers to achieve the hotel’s revenue and market share goals for one or more properties. The focus of this position is Business Travel.

Responsibilities:
•Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals
•Complete a yearly marketing plan and follow through with a monthly sales action plan.
•Complete a sales report weekly•
Clear understanding of the hotels business strategies then set goals and determine action plans tomeet those goals.
•Proactively conduct solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Social,Corporate/Business or SMERF as applicable by property.
•Grow existing relationships with assigned accounts specific to Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel (BT)and/or Groups as applicable by property.
•Monitor and evaluate trends within your market.
•Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly courteous andservice-oriented manner.
•Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicabledepartments.
•Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations as applicable.
•May assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions relating to direct salessegments i.e., sales blitzes etc.
•Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management.
•Lead, mentor, and manage the hotel's sales team, including Sales Managers and SalesCoordinators
•Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
•Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc.

Necessary Skills:
•High School diploma or equivalent required; previous hotel Sales experience preferred with 2 years in a leadership role•Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
•Must possess developed verbal and written communication skills to frequently negotiate convince sell and influence other managerial personnel hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
•Experience with professional selling skills desired: opening probing supporting closing
•Must be proficient in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products
•Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, strong organization, and presentation skills
•Stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment.
•Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far.
•Finger dexterity to type, to write, and work on a computer.
•Must speak in a clear, understandable voice and hear at a basic level, and understand English.
•Must be able to bend, stretch arms overhead and lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
